Can't I be in two places at once?
Dang.. I took a week off from updating the blog. I thought it would be nice to not have any pressure to update the blog but the whole time I was in New York I kept thinking of blog posts and wanting to write ideas down. blog addict much?
Although I love being home in Texas, I still wish I was in New York.
Before my trip I thought it came too quickly and during the trip it went by too quickly. The first week was pretty good. Dealt with stuff with my mom and visited with my parents. on Saturday the 11th we went to Connecticut to visit with my cousin Rayna and her baby Lucy. The drive there was beautiful, the party was really fun. We got to visit with the family and I got to show off my ring. On the way back we drove by Newtown and Sandy hook. It was really weird to actually see the town where it all went down.
It was great to see my dad and how much things have changed in Schenectady.. Downtown Schenectady is sooo different, so many new restaurants and stores are open. We got to go out to lots of different places. we went to Cafe NOLA and it was delicious and they even gave us advice on the wedding. I hung out with Anna and her baby Adam.. He is so much older now. It was great seeing her.. I really missed her.
We did a lot over the week, went on a few walks with my dad, went to visit my mom hung out with a few people..Jon got to NY on Wednesday the 15th. On the 16th we met my friend Liz in Saratoga and went out for coffee and dinner.. We talked about the wedding and met her aunt, who is a florist and might do the wedding flowers.
On Friday we went to check out a wedding venue near Saratoga, my aunt Marsha came to ny to see the venue with us. We loved it. we even got some possible wedding dates. After we looked at the venue we went out to lunch. On Saturday was our big trip to Rome NY, to see my friend Kate get married. I am so glad that we got invited. The reception was adorable and was tons of fun. It was great to see Steph and Anna and their boyfriends. It was going fine until the DJ asked for all the single ladies to the dance floor for the bouquet toss.. Yikes... So I figured that theres was no way that I would catch the bouquet, so we all lined up and Kate threw the bouquet and It went RIGHT to me. I swear the other girls backed away.. I caught that shiznit. then once I caught it I realized that crap.. I caught it.. So then the guys had to come up and do the garter toss and of course this little boy catches it. oh yeah and the DJ was like " whoever catches this gets to have fun with Rachel tonight".. awkward So since the kid was a kid he had to give it to the person to the left.. ( I wish it was to the right, because that would have been Jon ... but no ) so the person to the left was a guy wearing an army/marine uniform.( apparently he was Brandon's brother) AWESOME.. So he had to slide the garter up my leg... apparently Kate and Brandon are going to stay together for 70 years.. he got that garter pretty far up my leg. :)
We were staying at the hotel where the wedding was so we didn't have to drive home that night. the room was soo nice.. that night we went out to dinner with Anna and Evan, we weren't really hungry but it was still good. The next day we woke up early and drove back to Schenectady. I'm glad we left early, it rained for the whole half hour before we got home.
I got a few recipes from one of my mom's aides.. I hope I will make them soon. One is for homemade pasta. yum .
On the schedule for this week is
Strawberry Muffins
Spinach triangles
Sweet potato slices
Apple crisp( if i have time)
On the week for exercise is run a mile or 2 and do some cross fit on Thursday. fun stuff.
Now time for some pictures
