B-a-n-a-n-a-s :)

My friend asked for my Banana Eggnog recipe and I figured It wouldnt hurt to just update my blog and tell people about my recipe.  I hope you like it Katie .. and anyone else who wants it

I had a bunch of bananas and I had about three left that were starting to get a little brown so I decided to make banana bread.. I knew I wanted to try a new recipe since I love experimenting with new recipes. Luckily I had just gotten a new recipe of Taste of Home, and It came with a recipe for Banana eggnog bread. I wasnt sure about it, Banana + Eggnog= delicious? maybe?

The first struggle was to find eggnog.. Living in Houston doesn't exactly give you many options in the eggnog catergory.  Do they even have real eggnog? I picked up some "vanilla" eggnog  at the store and it was terrible... White and creamy.. not at ALL the real eggnog.. Oh well..

I went ahead and made it and it turned out beautifully. It was so so moist and so delicious..

Heres the recipe Y'all

Banana Egg Nog Bread

1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas ( about 2 medium bananas)
1/4 cup eggnog
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg, divided
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 baking soda

1. Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in bananas, eggnog and vanilla.  In another bowl whisk flour, baking powder, 1/4 nutmeg, salt and baking soda; gradually beat in the banana mixture.
2. Transfer to a greased 9x5 in. loaf pan; sprinkle with remaining nutmeg. Bake 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.  Cool in the pan 10 minutes before removing.

This sums up everything I believe in.
