A Tale of NY trips and baking goodness

This month has been a busy month, I had another trip to NY scheduled for Stephanie's Bridal shower and Bachlorette party.. All in one day/night :)
Bridal Shower tables!

I left TX on September 1st and only had Friday without major plans. It was a good day to relax and try to get the Lollipop bouquets finished for Steph's bridal shower :P The next day was her shower and it was a lovely shower. We all worked so hard on it. I think the games were fun to play.  Immediately after the shower I got my stuff packed for the bachlorette party and headed over to steph's house to wait for Kate. I got to hang out with her parents so it was pretty fun.  When Kate got there I was sooo happy to see her, It has been too long since I last saw her. The Car ride up to the camp was pretty eventful.. we talked and sang along to her wonderful playlist. and managed to not get lost.

The bachlorette party was hilarious and it was great to be silly with a great group of girls. lots of shenanigans went on.. and we even got to have a campfire..

The next morning we all woke up and have a lovely breakfast and went on a walk to see the pond.. then we all got packed and Kate and I headed to Saratoga to hang around for a few hours.. since we were going to the Blink 182 concert that night.. We had decided to get a hotel instead of driving back to Schenectady that night. We got some yummy dinner and then went to the concert.. It was AMAZING to see a band live that I basically grew up listening to. The other bands were pretty good too. All in all it was a great show, and I am glad that Kate got to go with me.

As fun as the trip to NY was It was also nice to be home again.

I've been busy here too. I had to get both dresses for the weddings I'm in altered, I found a really nice place about 40 mins away and the seamstress is the nicest lady! I just had my final fitting for the first wedding and I have another fitting for the other wedding the day before my birthday.. yay!

Okay now to the more interesting part of the post ;) the Food!

Last time I posted I made pasta Carbonara ... and It turned out beautifully.. I was a bit nervous it wouldn't have the right consistency but it was so good. I had Carbonara at Olive Garden the other day and I thought it still wasn't as good as how mine turned out. I definitely want to try making it again.. adding new ingredients.. maybe.

Pasta Carbonara!

The next thing I made a few days ago was Pizza. I made a cheese pizza and a Canadian Bacon and Pineapple Pizza with the leftover pineapple from the fruit and veggie basket I signed up to get.. ( I will tell you more about that later in this post) It was a pretty tasty pizza

Canadian Bacon and Pineapple Pizza!
I was talking to one of my friends and he was saying he had a really good BLT and that made me really

want one so I made a Asiago and Bacon Grilled Cheese. It was delicious and melty.

Best Sandwich Ever!

The day I made the Carbonara I also made some pound cake to go with some strawberries for Strawberry Shortcake. There is nothing better than some fresh strawberries and some sugar and some whipped cream.. One of my favorite desserts.
Mmm!
I really love fresh fruits and veggies and a few times I've gone to the store and bought some and it just isn't the same. .they get old quicker than they should and I've even gotten some strawberries from the same day that had mold on them by later that day.. So I was doing some research and found a place that has local fruit and veggies but you have to go pick it up. So I drove over to a random parking lot and went and picked it up.. this was all the stuff that I got... pretty nice huh? I ordered another basket for this weekend so I will post and let you guys know what I get this time.. I'm looking forward to cooking with the things that I do get..

Fruit and Veggies!

The 13th was me and Jons 2nd wedding anniversary. We decided to go to Olive Garden and we got each other a few presents.. I also baked him some sugar cookies and I had some bananas that looked like good banana bread bananas.. so I made Banana bread... mmm!
I still have a few more bananas so I think I will maybe make some banana muffins or possibly Banana pancakes.. and listen to some Jack Johnson ;)

Hope everyone has a good weekend!! Woo Its friday.
