New York State of Mind

Last week Jon and I were in New York.  My friend that I've known since we were in Elementary school got married and it was a lovely celebration, complete with a thunderstorm and fireworks that just happen to be going off after.  We got to Schenectady on the 11th, it was a pretty easy trip and we got in way early. I almost had to search for new dad applications because my dad somehow took a nap instead of picking us up ;)  In his defense he did get back from Cape Cod the night before.

It was great to see a bunch of my friends at the wedding, and we got to sit at the same table as Liz and Carter. :P I got to see our wedding DJ too cause he was DJing there, and fun fact he also went to my Elementary school too. (best 4th grade class ever)

When I was planning this trip to we only had the wedding planned and it turned out that since we would be there it would be a good time to have a ceremony for the bench and tree planted in honor of my mother. So my Sunday ended up being pretty busy, going to the Greenmarket then walking over to the ceremony then heading to my cousins graduation party.  It was a long interesting day.

I wish we had had a bunch more time there, I wanted to bake something in my dads new oven, oh well. oooh yea. While I was in New York I got to try a pumpkin doughnut, I thought they were a Washington thing but apparently they have them in NY.  ha but they dont have Apple Cider ones.

yumm!

This will be a shorter post, next week I am going to make Spinach Triangles like my mom used to. They are so delicious and you make a bunch so you can freeze some of them.

I've been keeping a list of food things that I should make or that someone has mentioned I should make. I have checked some of them off but so far I have written

-Black Velvet Cake
-Earl Grey cupcakes with a honey Frosting
-Cake Mix Cookies
-Caramelized onion and tomato mozzarella muffins
-Waffle with Apple Butter and Crushed Almonds (made it)
-Waffle with Nutella and Strawberries (made it)
-Moscato w apples and pineapple juice ( I had this at Olive garden and I want to drink it forever)
-London Fog Snickerdoodles
-Chicken Stuffed fish

The last one is kinda funny because at the wedding they had fish stuffed fish and it was pretty good, we were wondering how it would taste if it was a bit less on the fish.
It seems I have my work cut out for me. I'm sure I will come up with way more things to make.

Hope you guys have a good weekend!
