It really sucks when your hard drive crashes...
So I was on my computer last week and everything was running fine.. I was on facebook and all of a sudden ... It crashes.. I got a blue screen and it said can't read the Hard drive.. I don't know everything about computers but I know that is not good AT ALL.. I rebooted it and it wouldn't even start up. crap.
So my first thought and plan of action was to bring it to Geek Squad, they would probably know more about it, and hopefully be able to get my data off the hard drive. Luckily, Jon knows Chris, who works there and he took care of my computer while it was there.. Unfortunately they couldn't get any data off the hard drive. great... all my pictures are gone... all my music ...gone..
I finally got my computer back and we got a new hard drive from Chris ( thank you so much Chris) Jon and I thought that we just needed to reinstall Windows after we put in the new hard drive. Nope.. We tried using Jon's copy of Windows with my product key.. but that didn't work..so we needed to find a copy of Windows Home Premium. Luckily Chris had one, so we borrowed his CD.. Long story short.. it didn't work either.. So. either my choice was.. go to a computer specialist and spend who knows how much $.. or install another operating system.. So as of 7:30 my operating system is now Fedora.
I wonder why I was having problems installing windows.. oh well, I wanted to eventually learn about Fedora.
oh and also R.I.P Hard drive
Anywho. Back to regularly scheduled blogging..
It's been crazy without a computer, haven't been on Pinterest.. in a week.. (going through withdrawal) I have been finding recipes from actual cookbooks.. Last night I made Spaghetti with a sausage meat sauce... It was really easy. I didn't follow a recipe, I just added Italian seasoning to the sauce to make it extra amazing.
I also baked chocolate chip cookies, I found the recipe in "How to Cook Everything" By Mark Bittman. Its a really good recipe.
Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
(makes 3 to 4 dozen)
Time: about 30 minutes
1/2 pound butter ( I used a little less)
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
2. Use an electric mixer to cream together the butter and sugars, add the eggs one at a time and beat until well blended.
3. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl and add them to the batter by hand, stirring to blend. Stir in the vanilla and then the chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoons or tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet, and bake until lightly browned, about 10 minutes. Cool for about 2 minutes then transfere to a rack to finish cooling.
Everyone should make these, and plus guys love cookies. well almost any kind of food..
So thankful my computer works again.. yay Nerds. Next week I will be in New York visiting my family. So hopefully I will have time to update.
Glad to see you back online! Cookies look great!!
